John married Ann POTTLE [scrapbook] on 10 Aug 1760 in St Giles, Standlake, Oxfordshire by licence. Ann was born about 1735. She died in date unknown.

They had the following children.

	255	F	ii	Elizabeth BASTON was christened on 9 Aug 1761 in St Mary's, Witney, Oxfordshire. She died in date unknown.
	256	M	iii	Joseph BASTON was christened on 18 May 1766 in St Mary's, Witney, Oxfordshire. He was buried on 17 Aug 1794 in Holy Trinity, West Hendred, Berkshire (a pauper).
				Joseph married Catherine SIMPSON on 9 Oct 1785 in St Nicholas Church, Fyfield, Berkshire. Catherine was born about 1765. She was buried on 19 Jul 1794 in Holy Trinity, West Hendred, Berkshire.
	257	F	iv	Mary BASTON was christened on 17 Jun 1767 in St Mary's, Witney, Oxfordshire. She died in date unknown.

William married Jane ELLIOT [scrapbook], daughter of John ELLIOT and Margaret ELLIOTT?, on 8 Aug 1778 in Holy Cross, Sparsholt, Berkshire (TS). Jane was christened on 30 Jan 1747 in Lambourn, Berkshire (TS). She was buried on 5 Sep 1784 in Holy Cross, Sparsholt, Berkshire.

	260	F	iii	Mary BASTON was christened on 4 Apr 1784 in Holy Cross, Sparsholt, Berkshire. She was buried on 25 Jul 1784 in Holy Cross, Sparsholt, Berkshire (TS an infant).

178. Thomas (Basson) BASTON [scrapbook] (Joseph (Barston) , John , John , John , John , John , John ) was born about 1751 in Standlake, Oxfordshire?. He was buried 1 on 14 Jun 1821 in Bibury, Gloucestershire. Email 2 from Julie Harrison's family line Is not the Thomas of Thomas & Ann Busby Baston as he was buried in 1750 ("Thomas son of Thomas & Ann")and also was not mentioned in any of the various Wills which relate to that branch of the family. Julie has a record that her Thomas was born in Standlake (My x3 gt grandfather stated in an Examination that he was born at Standlake, Oxfordshire) and Thomas' burial 1821 in Bibury shows his age as 70, making him born about 1751/2.  Julie also states "that he was hired at a Hiring Fair, we think at Burford, by a Mr.Rodway, a Husbandman of Bibury.  Naughty Thomas failed to turn up to work and he was eventually found at Brize Norton and taken to Bibury where a month later he married a Hannah Packer who already had a Bastard child, a boy born 26th February 1778, Father: Charles Carpenter of Elkstone and the boy was baptised at Bibury on 26 Jan 1803". My personal theory is that Thomas was probably born to Joseph & Elizabeth Bason. Elizabeth died in 1752 perhaps from giving birth to Thomas and Joseph didn't get round to having Thomas baptised. Elizabeth Baston nee Acres parents lived at Brize Norton so perhaps that is who Thomas went to visit?(CAH) Possibly the same Thomas for whom Banns were read at Standlake in 1778  "Thomas Bason otp & Ann Beckley of Ashton" but no marriage appears to have taken place.

Thomas married Hannah PACKER [scrapbook], daughter of Charles PACKER, on 28 Dec 1789 in Bibury, Gloucestershire. Hannah was born about 1758. She was buried on 23 May 1837 in Bibury, Gloucestershire (Age 80). Marriage Notes: There is also a record for Banns being read for Thomas Bason of Standlake & Ann Beckly of Ashton for 20th September 1778 at Standlake.

	264	F	iv	Betty (Basson) "Elizabeth" BASTON was christened on 11 Mar 1794 in Bibury, Gloucestershire. She died in date unknown.

	266	M	vi	William (Basson) BASTON was born about 1804. He was buried on 8 Jan 1804 in Bibury, Gloucestershire.
