Francis was employed ³ as Apprenticeship Indenture to John/Elizabeth Pawling of Bampton on 4 Oct 1718 in Bampton, Oxfordshire. He was left a legacy ⁴ in his aunt Elizabeth Baston's Will 29 Nov 1742, East Hendred, Berkshire He was in the Oxford Quarter Sessions court ⁵ on 17 May 1759 for for carrying away child of Ann Barrett..

I wondered why in Francis' apprentishop indenture he is described as a poor boy, I now realise why, he was orphaned as both of his parents had died in 1714.
(This Francis is the first occurrence of the name in the Baston family.)

Francis married ¹ Mary ACRES [scrapbook]-2489, daughter of Henry ACRES-3502 and Mary HUMFRYS-4798, on 22 Oct 1737 in St Mary's Church, Bampton, Oxfordshire. Mary was christened ² on 7 Aug 1709 in St Mary's, Bampton, Oxfordshire. She was buried ³ on 2 Mar 1749 in St Mary's, Bampton, Oxfordshire.

From 1751 all births are shown to Francis & Elizabeth, not Francis & Mary so we can presume that Mary has died in the meantime and Francis has remarried.  This is born out by the fact that a Mary Baston was buried 2nd March 1749, the same time as Ann & Jane, the twins were born.

Francis also married Elizabeth BASTON?-3220 about 1750. Elizabeth was born about 1720. She was buried ¹ on 6 May 1782 in St Mary's Church, Bampton, Oxfordshire.

It looks as though on William's death, his son William inherited the house in Broad Street, Bampton, this in turn went to his son Francis and the land at Buckland to his son Thomas,  William's (1704) great grandson, John Baston is shown as still living in Broad Street in the 1861 census with his wife Jane (Kitchener).

William married ^{1, 2} Elizabeth SKINNER [scrapbook]-1855, daughter of Robert SKINNER-2498, on 2 Sep 1726 in All Saint's, Oxford, Oxfordshire. Elizabeth was christened ³ on 20 Sep 1706 in St Mary's, Bampton, Oxford. She was buried ⁴ on 12 Dec 1779 in St Mary's Church, Bampton, Oxfordshire.

1742 Will, inherited all his aunt Elizabeth's messuage & appurtences in East Hendred, late in the tenure of Thomas Castle.

Thomas married ¹ Ann BUSBY [scrapbook]-2833, daughter of Richard BUSBY-4262 and Ann WADSWORTH-4263, on 5 May 1748 in St Mary's, Bampton, Oxford (OFHS CD). Ann was christened on 23 Feb 1714 in Charlbury, Oxfordshire. She died in date unknown.

Ann was in the Oxford Quarter Sessions court ² on 18 Mar 1761 for had goods stolen by Sarah Bennett..

53. Jonathan BASTON [scrapbook]-919 (William , William , John , John , John ) was christened ¹ on 22 Jan 1720 in Bampton, Oxfordshire. He died on 8 Jun 1784 in Weald Bampton, Oxfordshire. He was buried ² on 11 Jun 1784 in St Mary's, Bampton, Oxfordshire age 64.

He was left a legacy ³ in his aunt Elizabeth Baston's Will 29 Nov 1742, East Hendred, Berkshire A photograph ⁴ of where Jonathan & Sarah were married in 1770 in All Saint's Church, Sutton Courtney, Berkshire. He had a will ⁵ on 4 Nov 1777 in Weald, Bampton, Oxfordshire. He has this pedigree ⁶ Pedigree chart using Jonathan's Will dated 1777 in Bampton, Oxfordshire. His will was probated ⁷ on 5 Apr 1785 in Weald Bampton, Oxfordshire.

Possible son of William 1664/1680, needs checking.  Confirmed by Jonathan's will in 1777 in which he names his father and his brother William together with his brother's children.

Jonathan married ¹ Jane WEBB [scrapbook]-4436 on 9 Oct 1742 in St Mary's, Bampton, Oxfordshire. Jane was born about 1702. She was buried on 27 Oct 1769 in St Mary's, Bampton, Oxfordshire (27 Oct 1769 age 67) or (Jane of Aston 6 Apr 1765).

Jonathan also married ¹ Sarah BAKER [scrapbook]-2520 on 6 Oct 1770 in All Saints, Sutton Courtney, Berkshire. Sarah was born about 1718. She was buried ² on 3 Apr 1798 in St Mary's, Bampton, Oxfordshire aged 80 years.

Deborah married ¹ John GUNTER-2743 on 18 Oct 1758 in East Hendred, Berkshire. John was christened on 10 Feb 1723 in Standford in the Vale, Berkshire. He was buried on 2 Jun 1772 in St Augustine, East Hendred, Berkshire.

Thomas was in the Oxford Quarter Sessions court £10 to answer John Handy of Brighthampton ²on 11 Sep 1736.

Susanna was christened ² on 22 Nov 1677 in St Mary's Church, Bampton, Oxfordshire. She was buried ³ on 5 Oct 1719 in St Mary's, Bampton, Oxfordshire.

John also married ¹ Elizabeth ARCHER-5528 on 1 Feb 1724 in St Mary's Church, Bampton, Oxfordshire. Elizabeth was born about 1690. She died in date unknown.

It is possible that Alice Sheppard & Elizabeth Sheppard are one and the same.
