William BASTON
I can find no other William Baston in the Bampton area, so William (about
1670) should be the William baptised 1664 in Bampton to William.
No trace of a marriage around 1702 in the Oxfordshire area but there is a
marriage 4th October 1702 at Fleet, London which was well known at the time
for underage or clandestine marriages (RG7-016). The entry for this reads
William Baston residing Kingston, Westminster & Sarah Tharp of St Giles in
the Fields, 4th October 1702 (RG7 Piece 16 folio 11).
1742 Mentioned as deceased in his sister Elizabeth's Will and that at the
time he had 3 sons living, William, Thomas & Jonathan.

unknown BASTON?
I originally had this down as Ann Hitchenden who married a
William Baston in 1703 at Aylesbury but have since found a burial for
William of Aylesbury in 1704 at Stratton Audley and was therefore incorrect.
1024.
Thomas (Bason) BASTON
1742 Will, inherited all his aunt Elizabeth's messuage &
appurtences in East Hendred, late in the tenure of Thomas Castle.
1024.
Jonathan BASTON
Probable son of William 1664, needs checking. Confirmed by
Jonathan's will in 1777 in which he names his father and his brother William
together with his brother's children.
1152.
Thomas MAY
Temporarily added this Thomas to William, he may be the one
baptised 1711 and also links the two branches, (may not be the right place).
Possibly same as Thomas about 1720
