1Birth William Baston 1703 Bampton (Email from Ron Baston 18 Jun 2006). "I checked my notes and have William down as bapt. on 18.3.1704, and died in 1771. I also have a note that says 'gravestone shows date of birth as 30.6.1703. When I was down at Bampton I wrote to the vicar and he agreed that I could read the church copy of their births and deaths records and this must have been from them. I honestly cannot remember where else it could have come from. Ron Baston 2006." I have since discovered that the birth date is from his grave stone as noted in the 1847 book of Monumental Inscriptions - CAH.
