Baston Family Genealogy

Baston family of Hackney, Shoreditch and Whitechapel, London from 1785, originally from Bampton, Oxfordshire

Descendants of Thomas & Mary Baston or Bason of Kelmscott, Berkshire

Thomas was born about 1740 and was probably married around 1765 as that is the time that their children started to be baptised at Kelmscott. The first three children were Baston's and the rest Bason. Some of their descendants worked on the canals as lock keepers, initially at Lechlade in Gloucestershire and latterly at Osney Lock, Oxford.
