Descendants of Thomas Barson & Elizabeth King of Coggs,
Thomas Barson was born about 1760 and as yet is unlinked into
any other Baston, Basson or Barson family. I strongly suspect his was the
son of one of the Burson's of Shipton & Milton under Wychwood. Thomas'
children were all baptised as Barson, some of his grand children were also
Barson but Basson seems to have slowly become more prevalent. Thomas' grand
children have all the right names to match in with the Burson's of Milton
under Wychwood, especially William & Mary (Austin) Burson who had a Thomas
baptised in 1766. The only other candidate for Thomas' baptism is to Joseph
& Alice (Matthews) Burson in 1755 but the family names just don't follow
Thomas Barson's link to the Bursons is enhanced by the fact that there is a
memorial stone in Coggs churchyard to a George Burson who died in 1760 aged 87
and this also appears to link back to the Bursons of Shipton Wych.

enquiring about people mentioned in this genealogy as it is very difficult for
me to know which John, William, Thomas you mention.
